A large number of people from the Tamil community, including S.P. Rajasekharan, General Secretary of the Chandigarh Tamil Sangam, were present on the occasion. S.P. Rajasekharan explained that as part of this unique and centuries-old tradition, the procession proceeded with full ceremonial procession to the Lord Karthikeyan Temple and then returned to the Ayyappa Temple.  This ritual symbolizes the divine brotherhood between Lord Ayyappan and Lord Karthikeyan, who are worshipped as brothers in the Hindu tradition.
