Grand Idol Consecration Ceremony Held at Maa Jagdamba Temple, Sector-67
Idol Installation Conducted with Full Ritualistic Observance; Dignitaries and Representatives from Various Temple Committees Paid Obeisance
S.A.S.Nagar 19 April ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : A grand ceremony for the *Pran Pratishtha* (idol consecration) was organized at the Maa Jagdamba Temple in Sector-67, Mohali, under the aegis of the Maa Jagdamba Seva Mandal, Sector-67. During the event, while office bearers from various temple committees across the city attended to participate in the proceedings, prominent city dignitaries also arrived to pay their respects at the temple and lauded the commendable work being undertaken by the temple committee's office bearers. On this occasion, the current President of the Maa Jagdamba Seva Mandal (Sector-67, Mohali)—Harbans Kalia—along with General Secretary Kewal Sharma, Finance Secretary Hanuman Prasad, and their entire team, specially honored the visiting guests by presenting them with a *chunni* (sacred scarf) of the Mother Goddess.
It is noteworthy that the aforementioned program spanned from April 15 to April 19, 2026. On the final day of the event, participants included District BJP leader Sanjeev Vashisht, President of the Shri Brahmin Sabha Mohali—Vishal Sharma, Patron of the Shri Ganesh Mahotsav Committee Mohali—Romesh Dutt, social worker Rupa Sohana, and other distinguished personalities. According to the temple's Chief Priest, Pandit Tikaram Shastri, the *Pran Pratishtha* ceremony was conducted with full ritualistic precision by a team of 21 priests (*Acharyas*), which included Acharya Sohna Lal Shastri and other temple clergy.
Speaking on the occasion, Temple Committee President Harbans Kalia and his entire team announced that the installation of idols—including those of Shri Ganesh, Shri Maa Jagdamba, Shri Radha Krishna, Shri Lakshmi Narayan, Shri Ram Darbar, and Shri Hanuman, as well as Shri Baba Balak Nath and Shri Barbari—was performed in the temple's main sanctum (*Darbar*) with immense pomp, fervor, and devotion. They further informed that, to mark the conclusion of the program, a continuous community feast (*Bhandara*) and *Prasad* distribution drive were also organized for the devotees.
