56th Chitrai Thiruvizha Celebration Concluded with Great Fanfare by Chandigarh Tamil Sangam

Chandigarh 10 May ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The 56th Anniversary Celebration—Chitrai Thiruvizha 2026—organized by the Chandigarh Tamil Sangam (a South Indian socio-cultural organization), concluded successfully on Sunday at Bharati Bhawan, Sector 30-B, Chandigarh, amidst great enthusiasm and traditional dignity. Members of the Tamil community, cultural enthusiasts, and distinguished guests participated enthusiastically in the event.

The program’s Chief Guest was Shri Manish Tewari, Honorable Member of Parliament for the Chandigarh Lok Sabha constituency. Senior officials, including Shri Arvind (IAS), along with dignitaries from various institutions, were also present at the ceremony. The event featured captivating cultural performances by the cultural troupe of the North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC), Patiala, and the renowned classical dance institution, Lasya Kshetram, which further enhanced the grandeur of the celebration.

The ceremony showcased the rich cultural heritage of Tamil Nadu through various cultural programs presented by children and women, including Bharatanatyam, folk dances, and devotional music. The audience profusely praised both the performances and the excellent organization of the event.The organizers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to all guests, artists, volunteers, sponsors, collaborators, and the assembled audience, whose support made this ceremony a grand and memorable occasion.

The event was organized under the leadership of the Sangam’s President, G. Madhavan (IAS, Retd.), and General Secretary, S.P. Rajasekaran, with the active support of executive members and volunteers. The Chandigarh Tamil Sangam reiterated its commitment to organizing such cultural events in the future to continue promoting the Tamil language, culture, and social harmony.
