In a statement, Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring questioned the real purpose of the “census”. He said, it was actually the AAP’s exercise to collect the data of the people ahead of the elections, at the cost of state exchequer. Chandigarh 3 May ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Bhajans of Baba Lal Dayal Maharaj are being sung at Lal Dwara Mandir Sector 40 A, queues of devotees are seen with their eyes wide open and the court of Baba Lal Dayal is beautifully decorated. As soon as the throne holder of the world famous Baba Lal Dayal's Dhyanpur Ashram, Shri Shri 1008 Mahamandaleshwar Mahant Shri Ram Sundar Das Maharaj entered, the entire area reverberated with the chants of Jai Baba Lal Ji. The occasion was the Naam Diksha and Ashirwad Samagam organized at the temple. Crowds of devotees had reached the Ashram since morning to have the darshan of Shri Shri 1008 Mahamandaleshwar Mahant Shri Ram Sundar Das Maharaj.
During this, Mahant Shri Ram Sundar Das Maharaj said that worshipping Baba Lal Dayal Maharaj with devotion and in a proper manner fulfills every wish. Worshiping Baba Lal Dayal Maharaj holds special significance for maintaining prosperity and peace in the home. He said that joint efforts are needed to propagate religion. Mahant Shri Ram Sundar Das Maharaj said that to attain salvation, one needs to meditate on God. Lal Dwara Managing Committee Sector 40 A's General Secretary Dinesh Gupta and his family and close relatives received the blessings of Satguru Baba Lal Dayal Maharaj Ji Mahant Shri Shri 1008 Shri Ram Sundar Das Ji Maharaj (Gaddinshin-Dhyanpur Wale). On this occasion, Dinesh Gupta, while taking the blessings of Mahant Shri Shri 1008 Shri Ram Sundar Das Maharaj Ji, wished for happiness and prosperity for the entire country and the city residents. He said that all happiness is achieved with the blessings of saints and great men. It is only with their blessings that one gets the opportunity to do service, satsang and meditation. Lal Dwara Managing Committee President Hemant Puri and General Secretary Dinesh Gupta said that this is the 33rd annual gathering. Maharaj Ji visits the temple every year on the invitation of the committee and gives naam diksha and blessings to the devotees. Today, about 20 devotees were given diksha, after which other devotees were blessed by Maharaj Ji. They told that under the naam daan process, devotees wishing to receive naam daan are given naam diksha only after coming to the temple in the morning with their faces open and getting the puja performed by the priest. Dinesh Gupta said that during the ceremony, renowned bhajan singer Babbu Chawla (Kurukshetra) enthralled the devotees with his bhajans. A feast was also organized afterward. He said that a large number of devotees from Tricity (Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula) and surrounding areas participated in this religious gathering.
