Ambala/Haryana 22 June ( PDL ) : With the objective of connecting Ambedkarite companions across the country with the organization and strengthening organizational activities at the grassroots level, a nationwide membership drive was formally launched today by the All India Ambedkar Mahasabha (Regd.). This important campaign was inaugurated by the former DGP of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Prithvi Raj. Prominent social leader from Chandigarh, Dr. Satish Garg, along with social workers and organizational office-bearers from across the country, were present as the key attendees at the event.
The National President of the Mahasabha, Shri Rakesh Bahadur, stated that the organization is actively working in 18 states of the country. It is a mass organization of the nation that includes people from every religion, caste, and section of society. This organization is not limited to any single community; rather, any individual who believes in the ideology of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and wishes to work towards strengthening the values of the Indian Constitution can become a part of it.
The Haryana State President, Smt. Reena Gavaskar Valmiki, said that the primary objective of the membership drive is to take the organization to every village and section of society, and to propagate Baba Saheb’s message of social justice, equality, and rights to as many people as possible. During the program, serious discussions were also held on the organization's upcoming strategies, important issues related to social causes, and the current circumstances of the country. Speakers emphasized that today there is a vital need to strengthen the core spirit of the Constitution, democratic values, and social unity.
On this occasion, deliberations also took place on subjects such as growing religious fanaticism in the country, social harmony, foreign challenges, and guiding society in the right direction. All speakers reiterated their resolve to walk the path shown by Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and to protect the Constitution. Several speakers addressed the convention, including Punjab State President Nirmaljit Singh, National Secretary Amrik Singh Bangar, Delhi Convenor Ravi Shankar, Bhagat Raj, Nirmal Chauhan, and Lovely Baggan. Nirmal Chauhan specifically shared views on the upliftment and empowerment of women, stating that women have received a strong foundation for equal rights and respect through the Constitution.
It was also highlighted in the convention that women have been given leadership responsibilities in five states, reflecting their growing participation in social change. In Haryana, Smt. Reena Gavaskar Valmiki is leading the organization. The entire auditorium resonated with slogans of "Jai Bhim," and everyone present resolved to advance Baba Saheb's principles of equality, liberty, and fraternity. Bhagat Raj Tisawad, Mange Ram Katyal, Advocate Sukhram, and Rajbeer Singh Bhartiya specially arrived from Chandigarh to attend the event
