CCTV cameras installed using MP funds in Etawah village will further strengthen security

Chandigarh 14 June ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : CCTV cameras installed in the lanes, squares, and main roads of Village Itawa—funded by the MPLADS fund of Hon'ble MP Manish Tiwari—were inaugurated today. The installation of these cameras has created an atmosphere of happiness and enthusiasm among the villagers. Residents believe this will significantly bolster the area's security and effectively curb crime. In his address, MP Manish Tiwari congratulated the villagers on this important project, noting that over the past two years, he has raised more than 122 issues concerning Chandigarh and the region—focusing on public welfare—in the Lok Sabha. He stated that ensuring public safety, development, and robust basic amenities is his priority, and he will continue to effectively raise issues of public interest in the future.

Strongly condemning the recent firing incident at 'Shri Kumar Medicos,' Tiwari emphasized the need to further strengthen law and order. He mentioned that he has discussed the matter with the Hon'ble Administrator and concerned officials, demanding better law and order in the city and strict action against the perpetrators. Subsequently, Chandigarh Congress President H.S. Lucky remarked that Councilor and former Sr. Deputy Mayor Jasbir Singh Bunty is a spirited, hardworking public representative dedicated to serving the people, always ready to resolve the residents' issues. He noted that development work in Village Itawa and the surrounding area has gained new momentum, a pace that will continue in the future. He appealed to the people to unite and cooperate for the area's development.

Villagers shared that there had been growing concern due to recent incidents of theft and the activities of anti-social elements. Now, with CCTV cameras in place, every activity can be monitored; this will aid in investigating thefts, vandalism, and other crimes, making it easier to identify the culprits. Speaking on the occasion, social worker Tarlochan Singh Bunty stated that the village of Itawa is witnessing continuous development under the leadership of local Councilor and former Sr. Deputy Mayor Jasbir Singh Bunty. He noted that basic amenities in the village have expanded significantly over the past few years, enabling Itawa to establish itself as a modern and developed village; the installation of CCTV cameras marks another important milestone in this journey of progress.

During the event, Sector-36 representatives Paramjit Singh and Arun Agarwal proposed the installation of CCTV cameras in their area as well, utilizing the MP fund. Similarly, Rajkumar Sharma, representing Sector-42, submitted a proposal to strengthen security arrangements in his locality. A large number of villagers, senior citizens, women, youth, and representatives of social organizations participated in the event. The attendees expressed their gratitude to MP Manish Tiwari and Councilor Jasbir Singh Bunty for their efforts toward the village's security and development.

Several dignitaries—including former Deputy Mayor Tarun Mehta, Dilawar Singh, Yadvinder Mehta, Rajkumar Sharma, Tarlochan Singh Bunty, Malkit Singh, Kulbir Singh, Pyar Singh, Pawan Singh, and Baljit Singh—congratulated the villagers on the installation of the CCTV cameras.
