Chandigarh 29 June ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Jasbir Singh Bunty, former Senior Deputy Mayor and Ward Councilor of Chandigarh, moved and successfully passed an agenda during the Municipal Corporation meeting to purchase at least 25 new small mobile water tankers for the city.
He noted that the demand for water rises in many areas during the summer season. Additionally, the Municipal Corporation faces challenges in ensuring adequate water supply during religious, social, and public events. Currently, the number of small water tankers is insufficient to meet the city's needs, leading to difficulties in providing timely water supply.
Bunty stated that the acquisition of these new small mobile water tankers would enable the immediate provision of water to various parts of the city whenever required, thereby bringing relief to people during religious gatherings, public events, and in water-scarce areas. He expressed hope that the procurement of these tankers would make the Municipal Corporation's services more effective and beneficial to the public.
