Municipal Employee Welfare Association Kharar holds massive protest rally under the banner of Safai Sewak Union Punjab
Kharar 13 July ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Today, a massive protest rally was taken out by Kharar Municipal Employee Welfare Association Kharar on the call of Safai Sewak Union Punjab. A large number of municipal employees, supervisors and other employees participated in this rally. The rally was taken out from the main market and different parts of the city. Talking to reporters, union president Amit Kumar said that the union had put forward some demands before the government for a long time, which have not been fulfilled till now. That is why we are taking out this rally today as a protest.
He demanded that outsourced employees be taken on contract, contract employees be made permanent, salaries be increased and old pensions be restored. He said that the sanitation workers who are outsourced get only Rs 10,000 per month, which is not even enough to support a family. A sanitation worker works by risking his life, but he does not even get a reasonable remuneration. We demand from the government that our demands be accepted as soon as possible.On this occasion, Amit Kumar President, Pradeep Kumar Chairman, Ranjit Singh Chief Advisor, Vikram Bhullar Vice Chairman, Vikram Vice President, Sanjay Punjab Chief Secretary, Mukesh Cashier, Angrej Singh Secretary along with supervisors and a large number of employees were present.
