Five Panthic Organizations, Including Shiromani Akali Dal (Punr-Surjeet), to Submit Joint Memorandum to the Union Home Minister : Gurpartap Singh Wadala Memorandum Demands Formation of a Truth Commission, Uncut Release of Punjab 95, and Arrest of Convicted DSP in Jaswant Singh Khalra Murder Case Amritsar 11 July ( PDL ) : Shiromani Akali Dal (Punr-Surjeet) General Secretary Gurpartap Singh Wadala, in a written press statement, announced that on Tuesday, July 14, five Panthic organizations will jointly submit memorandums across Punjab to the Union Home Minister through the respective Deputy Commissioners. The memorandum will seek action on the following three key issues: 1. Release of Punjab 95: The film based on the life and struggle of Shaheed Jaswant Singh Khalra should be released in cinemas under its original title, Punjab 95, without any censorship cuts. 2. Nukkad Natak at Sukhna Lake Spreads Awareness on SIR; Special Camps Held on 11 & 12 July

Chandigarh 11 July ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The Election Department, UT Chandigarh, in convergence with the Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, organised a Nukkad Natak at Sukhna Lake today to create awareness about the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Electoral Roll. Through engaging performances, the artists highlighted the importance of updating electoral rolls and urged electors to submit their Enumeration Forms well before the deadline of 14 July 2026. The initiative received an encouraging response from visitors at Sukhna Lake.

As part of the SIR campaign, Special Camps are also being organised on 11 and 12 July 2026 at all Polling Stations across UT Chandigarh. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will be available from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM to assist electors with the SIR process. Electors are requested to visit their respective Polling Stations, avail the assistance provided and submit their Enumeration Forms by 14 July 2026.

For assistance, electors may call the Voter Helpline 1950 or contact their respective BLO through the ‘Book a Call with BLO’ facility on the ECINet app and portal.
