RAWADHS will burn an effigy of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in protest of the lathicharge on sanitation workers
Chandigarh 28 July ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The Rashtriya Valmiki Dharam Samaj (RAWADHS) Regd., Chandigarh, will burn an effigy of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann at the Valmiki Ashram, Sector 24, on Thursday, July 30, 2026, in protest of the lathicharge on sanitation workers in Barnala, Punjab. In this regard, RAWADHS submitted a memorandum to the SSP, Chandigarh, demanding strictest action against the culprits.
RAWADHS National President Veer Dilbag Tank stated that on July 22, 2026, DSP Satbir Singh Bains, SHO Lakhwinder Singh, and other police personnel in Barnala, Punjab, lathicharged sanitation workers and used casteist slurs, thus attempting to vitiate the atmosphere in Punjab. Taking cognizance of this, the community has submitted a memorandum to the Honorable SSP, Chandigarh, urging that charges be filed against the guilty police officers under the SC/ST Act. Filing charges against the culprits will teach these arrogant officers that they will not repeat such acts in the future.
These individuals, who are wolves in uniform, should not be spared at all, as their actions have had a devastating impact on the general public. They have directly strangled democracy and taken undue advantage of their uniform. These culprits should be given the legal punishment they deserve, so that the public's faith in the law remains intact. He further stated that the government is responsible for maintaining peace and order in the state. The government is directly responsible for the lathicharge on sanitation workers. Therefore, an effigy of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will be burned at Valmiki Ashram, Sector 24, on July 30, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
