Omaxe Chowk: A New Landmark in Ludhiana’s Commercial Real Estate Growth

Omaxe Chowk: A New Landmark in Ludhiana’s Commercial Real Estate Growth Ludhiana 31 August ( PDL ) : Ludhiana has never been short of commercial activity. From its established shopping markets to its strong manufacturing and business ecosystem, the city has built a reputation as one of Punjab’s most commercially active urban centres. What is changing, however, is the nature of the spaces consumers and businesses are looking for. The traditional high street is increasingly being complemented by organised developments that bring shopping, dining, entertainment and other everyday conveniences together. Omaxe Chowk, being developed in the heart of Ghumar Mandi, is positioned within this changing landscape. Spread across approximately 5.25 acres with an investment of ₹500 crore, the project is planned as a mixed-use high-street development combining premium retail, wedding and jewellery showrooms, fashion outlets, destination dining, entertainment and luxury residences. Tacit BJP-Akali Nexus Exposed; Congress Poised for Decisive Comeback in 2027

Chandigarh 31 August ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The Punjab Congress Election Manifesto Committee today announced an intensive, grass-roots consultation exercise across all districts to draft a comprehensive "people's manifesto" for the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections. The committee held a detailed strategy meeting today at the Punjab Congress Bhawan. The committee announced that the state-wide consultation drive will formally kick off from the holy city of Amritsar, following which members will tour every district across the state. In each district, the committee will hold full-day, dedicated interactions from morning to evening with District Congress Committee (DCC) Presidents, MPs, MLAs, senior party leaders, and candidates who contested the 2022 Assembly elections to gather ground-level feedback and priorities.

The committee will also actively seek written suggestions, views, and demands from journalists, intellectuals, civil society organizations, and the general public to make the manifesto an authentic reflection of the aspirations of Punjabis. Addressing the media after the meeting, the committee leaders echoed the ideological stance outlined by Shri Rahul Gandhi, stating that two distinct ideological battles are currently underway in the country: one fought by those who protect Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s Constitution framed in 1950, and the other by the RSS-BJP combine that continues to oppose constitutional values and equality.

The leaders strongly condemned the regressive mindset of the BJP-RSS ecosystem, noting that when Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge addresses a gathering, BJP elements resort to performing unlawful and discriminatory ‘shuddhi-karan’ (purification) rituals simply because he is a Dalit. They remarked that instead of acting against those practicing untouchability- a punishable crime under the law- the BJP government has vindictively lodged an FIR against Rahul Gandhi for raising his voice against such unconstitutional practices. The party asserted that it will fight this battle tooth and nail and will not be cowed down by such vendetta politics.

Reiterating strong confidence ahead of the 2027 Assembly polls, the committee leaders stated that the political picture in Punjab is crystal clear. They said that the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Sukhbir Singh Badal are functioning hand-in-glove with the BJP, just as they have always been. The leaders asserted that the people of Punjab see through this tacit alliance and are determined to elect a decisive Congress government in 2027. The meeting was chaired by Manifesto Committee Chairman Dr. Amar Singh (MP, Fatehgarh Sahib), alongside Co-Chairpersons Gurjeet Singh Aujla (MP, Amritsar), Pargat Singh (Former Minister), Hardial Singh Kamboj (Former MLA), and Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria (Senior Leader).
