450 take part in ‘Livathon–Hearts in Action’ fitness activities in Mohali
S.A.S.Nagar 31 August ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Around 450 people took part in Livasa Hospital Mohali’s ‘Livathon–Hearts in Action’ fitness activities at HLP Galleria, Mohali today. The event marked the beginning of a 27-day fitness challenge, encouraging people across age groups to choose a physical activity they enjoy, practise it consistently and make active living a part of their daily routine in the run-up to World Heart Day. Sundeep Singh Garha, PCS, Municipal Commissioner, Mohali was Chief Guest during the event. Among others, Dr H.K. Bali, Chairman–Cardiac Sciences, Livasa Hospitals also participated.
The event was filled with energy and enthusiasm as participants across age groups came together for a community walk and took a collective pledge to make healthier choices. Participants also enthusiastically joined a lively Zumba session, step challenges, plank and push-up challenges, fitness games and other interactive activities. During the event, Livasa doctors highlighted the importance of making movement a daily habit and explained how regular walking and physical activity can contribute to cardiovascular health, stamina, weight management and overall well being. The participants were encouraged to work towards 10,000 steps a day, wherever appropriate, while understanding that individual activity goals should be based on age, fitness level and health conditions.
Doctors also emphasised that regular physical activity should go hand in hand with balanced nutrition, adequate hydration, sufficient sleep, stress management and timely preventive health check-ups. Anurag Yadav, CEO, Livasa Hospitals, said that when 450 people from different age groups come together with a shared commitment to stay healthy, it creates a powerful message about the importance of prevention and active living. Through Livathon, we want to create awareness that translates into meaningful and sustainable lifestyle changes.
