Balbir Singh Sidhu Visits Bathlana and Exposes the Ground Reality of Punjab Government’s Development Model

S.A.S.Nagar 16 August ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Today, senior Congress leader and former Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu visited Bathlana village, located around one kilometre from the Landran-Banur Road. During the visit, he highlighted the poor condition of the village road and exposed the reality behind the Aam Aadmi Party government’s claims of development. Deep potholes at several places and stagnant rainwater on the road have become a serious cause of inconvenience for local residents. Balbir Singh Sidhu said that the AAP government has been making tall claims about development for the past four and a half years, but the ground reality is completely different. No proper attention is being given to basic infrastructure in villages, and people are still struggling with damaged roads, dirty water and poor basic amenities.

Balbir Singh Sidhu directly questioned constituency MLA Kulwant Singh, saying that if the AAP government has genuinely carried out development during the last four and a half years, it should point out even one such major work that is visibly present on the ground. He said that the broken road in Bathlana, deep potholes at several places and stagnant dirty water have completely exposed the reality of the government’s development model. Sidhu said that the time for misleading people through advertisements and hollow claims is now over. He said that the condition of the Bathlana road is not merely a problem of one village; rather, it reflects the poor state of basic infrastructure across villages in Punjab. Due to the lack of road repairs, daily commuters, schoolchildren, elderly people and vehicle drivers are facing serious difficulties.

Sidhu said that instead of showcasing development only through advertisements and statements, the AAP government should work at the grassroots level. If the government is genuinely serious about the development of villages, the damaged roads in Bathlana and across Punjab should be repaired immediately and relief should be provided to the people. He said that the people of Punjab can now clearly see the difference between the government’s claims and the ground reality. Sidhu demanded that the AAP government immediately conduct an inspection of the Bathlana road and initiate repair work. He said that the Bathlana road itself is today telling the story of the reality behind the so-called ‘development model’, and the AAP government must immediately address the problems being faced by the people.
