RWA Sector 18A-B spreads message of environment protection by planting trees
Chandigarh 19 July ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Community Greens, RWA Sector 18A-B initiated the beautification of parks by organizing a tree plantation drive in the park adjacent to Panchayat Bhawan in Sector 18B. The tree plantation drive was launched by the officials of Community Greens RWA Sector 18A-B and other guests in the big park of Sector 18. During the plantation drive, 10 betel nut trees and 20 other types of plants were planted. On this occasion, Sarita Rai, Station House Officer, Sector 19, Chandigarh; Anup Gupta, Former Mayor and Area Councilor; Sumita Kohli, District Vice President, Rani Lakshmibai; Harman Mehta, General Secretary, RWA, Sector 18A/B; Dr. Rajnish Sharma, President, RWA, Sector 18A/B; Navdesh Passi, Joint Secretary, RWA, Sector 18A/B; Harmel Singh, President, RWA, Sector 18D; and other officials also planted trees and took a pledge to maintain the greenery of the parks.
Former Mayor and Area Councilor Anoop Gupta said that this monsoon season is the most suitable time for plants to flourish. Therefore, various types of trees have been planted in the park, as they are big, shady and have the ability to flourish. Harman Mehta, General Secretary, Community Greens RWA, Sector 18A/B, said that planting trees is the only solution to fight the polluted environment. Indiscriminate cutting of trees by humans has put human life at risk and given rise to several diseases. Trees are an integral part of our culture and are essential for a clean environment and ecological balance on earth.
Dr. Rajneesh Sharma - President, Community Greens RWA, Sector 18A/B said that the natural environment here is very pure and clean. Planting trees is very important to preserve this natural environment. If we want to stop environmental pollution, then planting trees is very important. District Vice President Rani Lakshmibai - Sumita Kohli said that trees are the precious jewels of this earth. It is through them that human life progresses. She said that every person should plant trees and also take a pledge to protect them.
