Warring condemns Haryana Police brutality against Sikh protestors Says, CM Saini owes an answer why peaceful protestors were beaten up Demands release of Sikh youth Chandigarh 14 August ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Punjab Congress Committee president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today condemned the brutality by Haryana Police on peaceful Sikh protestors in Ambala last night who were demanding release of two Sikh youth and an FIR against an accused who had rammed his car on people. Warring, in a statement issued here today, said that people were peacefully protesting in Ambala and seeking the release of two Sikh youths arrested arbitrarily by the Haryana Police. The PCC president also questioned the silence of the Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on the matter. He told Saini that he owed an answer to the Sikhs and Punjabis on the entire incident. Shiromani Akali Dal Puran Surjit rejects leaders' resignations : Gurpartap Singh Wadala

Chandigarh 14 August ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Shiromani Akali Dal Puran Surjit, Secretary General Gurpartap Singh Wadala said in a written press statement that due to some misunderstandings, the party's Senior Vice President Santa Singh Umaidpuri, General Secretary Jasbir Singh Ghuman and some of their colleagues had resigned the previous day. On the orders of party president Giani Harpreet Singh and after consultation with the party's senior leadership, those resignations have been rejected. These senior leaders of the party will continue in their posts. 

Wadala said that Santa Singh Umaidpuri is an old Taksali Akali who made his due contribution in the recruitment of the revived Akali Dal as per the orders of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. Similarly, Jasbir Singh Ghuman is also from the Taksali Akali family who himself spent his youth behind the bars of Jodhpur Jail. His remaining colleagues, Harinderpal Singh Tohra, Gurvinder Singh Gogi, Harbhajan Singh Patran and Amarjit Singh Sanour, have also decided to remain in the revived Shiromani Akali Dal, which we wholeheartedly welcome and reject all resignations. This will further strengthen the party.
