Chandigarh 7 September ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The GMCH Employees & Workers Joint Action Committee-32, representing the contractual employees of GMCH-32, expressed its heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Joint Director (Administration), Dr. Atul Dhakane (DANICS) for preparing a new employee-friendly tender aimed at protecting the rights and interests of contractual workers. A delegation of the Committee, led by President Sukhbir Singh, met Dr. Atul Dhakane today and presented him with a flower pot as a token of appreciation for incorporating several historic and employee-friendly provisions in the ATC of the GeM tender.
President Sukhbir Singh stated that the new tender prepared under the guidance of Dr. Dhakane is one of the most employee-friendly tenders introduced at GMCH to date. He said that the tender contains strong provisions to curb the exploitation of workers allegedly carried out by contractors and field officers of private companies over the years. Key Provisions of the New Tender:
1. 70:30 Supervisor Ratio
2. Job Security – Termination without permission will attract a penalty of ₹2 lakh and may lead to cancellation of the contract.
3. Contract Termination in Case of Recruitment Corruption
4. Salary Guaranteed by the 7th of Every Month
5. Uniforms and ID Cards to be Provided by the Contractor
6. Measures to Prevent EPF/ESI Irregularities
7. Appointment of a Nodal Officer
8. Roster System
9. Job Security for Female Employees – covering a total of 361 employees.
10. Experience Certificate Made Mandatory
11. ₹80 Lakh EMD and ₹16 Crore Turnover Requirement
President Sukhbir Singh said that these decisions taken under the leadership of Dr. Atul Dhakane have brought a wave of happiness among more than 1,700 outsourced employees and their families working in various departments of the hospital. On the occasion, Ravinder Yadav, Mukesh Maurya, Narinder Kumar, Gopal, Kiran Masih, along with other members of the JAC, were present.
