Land reserved for a temple and Gurdwara Sahib in Preet City, Sector 86, Mohali, should be handed over to the residents : Hardev Singh Ubha
Action by GMADA welcomed; demand for strict action against the builder in accordance with regulations
S.A.S.Nagar 11 September ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Supporting the long-standing demand of the residents of Preet City, Sector 86, Mohali, senior Punjab BJP leader Hardev Singh Ubha has stated that the land proposed or reserved for a temple and a Gurdwara Sahib should be made available to the residents as per their entitlement. Hardev Singh Ubha stated that, together with his wife Gurpreet Kaur Ubha—a Municipal Corporation Councilor for Ward No. 41, Mohali—he has been consistently raising his voice regarding the religious and public demands of Preet City residents. The issue concerning the residents not receiving the land designated for a temple and a Gurdwara is not merely a land dispute; rather, it is a serious matter linked to the residents' religious sentiments and their rights.
He stated that the initiation of action by GMADA in this matter is a welcome step, but this action should not remain limited to mere paperwork or a token formality. GMADA must conduct an impartial investigation into the entire matter and take strict, effective legal action against the builder in the event of any rule violations. They demanded that the GMADA administration set a clear timeline for making the land proposed for the temple and Gurdwara Sahib available to the residents in accordance with the rules, so that a permanent solution to the residents' long-standing demand could be reached. Hardev Singh Ubha stated that any attempt to trifle with people's religious sentiments cannot be tolerated. The administration must ensure a prompt and just resolution to this matter while safeguarding the rights of the residents.
