Punjab Mandi Board Chairman holds a key meeting with representatives of the Class IV Government Employees Union
The demands were discussed in detail during the meeting; Harchand Singh Barsat assured a speedy resolution
S.A.S. Nagar 3 September ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Punjab Mandi Board Chairman Harchand Singh Barsat held a crucial meeting with representatives of the Class IV Government Employees Union. During the meeting, the demands and issues of workers engaged under the contract system were discussed in detail. Punjab Mandi Board Secretary Kumar Amit (IAS), Joint Secretary Harjit Singh Sandhu (PCS), and Chief Engineer Gurinder Singh Cheema were also present on the occasion. During the meeting, Union President Darshan Singh Lubana apprised the Mandi Board Chairman in detail of the workers' key demands and urged that they be fulfilled as soon as possible. After listening attentively to the union's points, Harchand Singh Barsat issued necessary directives to the officials present on the spot.
It was decided in the meeting to constitute a committee at the official level to address the demands; this committee will also include two representatives from the union so that action towards resolving the demands can be taken in coordination with the officials.Barsat stated that while the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is striving for the welfare of every section of society, it is also committed to safeguarding the interests of its employees. The Punjab government always prioritizes the interests of its employees above all else. He assured the union representatives that their demands would be met soon. He also promised that no difficulties would be allowed to arise in the future and that he would continue to work for the betterment of the employees.
