CMC HORTICULTURALISTS UNION RALLY. CONDEMNATION OF OUTSIDERS IN THE UNION'S WORK.
Chandigarh 29 September ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : At the call of the CMC Horticulturalists Union, Chandigarh, a gate rally was held today, September 29, 2025, at the Horticulture Booth in Sector 16. Union President and newly appointed General Secretary of the Federation, Harkesh Chand, Union General Secretary M.M. Subrahmanyam, Chairman Nihal Singh, Matasaran Perumal, Mandeep Sharma, as well as newly appointed President of the Federation, Rajendra Katoch, Vice President Harpal Singh and Chairman Gopal Dutt Joshi were also present at the rally. Addressing the rally, Union President and Federation General Secretary Harkesh Chand and Union and Federation General Secretary M M Subramanyam strongly condemned the anti- employee attitude of Chandigarh Administration and Corporation Authority and said that instead of giving equal pay for equal work, cancelling the decision of handing over the green belts and parks under the Horticulture Department to the societies, and regularizing the daily wages and contracts of those working in Horticulture, the Administration and Corporation are hesitating in inviting tenders for recruitment of outsourced employees and are giving extensions of only 2-2 months. CMC Horticulture Workers Union is fighting against this unjust decision of the corporation but some anti-social and selfish people are not able to digest this and for their ownselfish interests, they have become puppets in the hands of bureaucracy and are trying to break the unity of the employees under a deep conspiracy which needs to be exposed. He appealed to all the employees to strengthen their unity.
Addressing the rally, newly appointed President of the Federation Rajendra Katoch and Chairman Gopal Dutt Joshi expressed their gratitude to the horticulture workers for making the General Conference of the Federation a success and appealed to strengthen their unity and become a part of the fierce struggles. He warned the administration that if the decision of equal pay for equal work is not implemented immediately and the dearness allowance arrears and bonus are not paid before Diwali, the Federation will launch a mass struggle, the date of which will be announced at the meeting of the newly elected Executive Committee of the Federation on 1 October 2025.
