Goldy was detained ahead of Mann’s Sangrur visit
Chandigarh 20 September ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Punjab Congress Committee president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today condemned the detention of the party leader and former Dhuri MLA Dalvir Singh Goldy. Goldy was detained by the police during Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s visit to Sangrur. Warring said that Goldy had announced in advance that he had certain questions to ask to the Chief Minister. However, much before the Chief Minister’s visit, Goldy was detained and prevented from asking any questions.
“I wonder why Bhagwant Mann is afraid of Goldy?” Warring asked, while telling him that today he may be able to use the Punjab Police but within a few months more once the code of conduct is in place, how can he stop people from asking questions. The PCC president said that the pattern was same as happened with Mohanjit Singh earlier who was arrested, tortured and administered with electric shocks on his private parts just because he had raised a black flag to the Chief Minister. “Beware and read the writing on the wall that your countdown has begun”, he told Mann, while warning him against misuse of police against people who have some questions to ask from the Chief Minister.
