28th Maryada Day of Muni Shri Prateek Sagar Ji Maharaj Celebrated with Devotion and Reverence
Chandigarh 24 April ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Today, the 28th Maryada Day (Diksha Day) of Muni Shri Prateek Sagar Ji Maharaj was celebrated with great devotion, reverence, and enthusiasm. The program commenced at 10:00 AM with the ceremonial washing of the feet of Muni Shri (Paad Prakshalan), in which 28 pairs of devotees participated and received his blessings. This was followed by the recitation of auspicious prayers (Mangalacharan). On this auspicious occasion, a large number of devotees from Ambala, Ludhiana, Jagraon, Meerut, Delhi, and nearby areas attended the program. Distinguished personalities from various regions were honored by the Chandigarh Jain community. During the event, women performed Guru Worship, and 28 pairs offered religious scriptures to Muni Shri.
Thereafter, a new Pichhi was offered to Muni Shri. A Pichhi is a small broom made of peacock feathers and is one of the very few The Chief Guest of the program was Shri Harpal Singh Cheema, Finance Minister of Punjab, along with Shri Ajay Jain, Advocate. In their addresses, they appreciated the lifestyle and teachings of Digambar Jain monks. In his discourse, Muni Shri Prateek Sagar Ji Maharaj shared his inspiring life journey—from Vinod Kumar Jain to becoming a Jain monk. He was born on 23 October 1980 in Bhind (Madhya Pradesh) to Shri Santosh Lal Jain and Smt. Kamalavati Jain. He took Diksha in 1999 under the guidance of Acharya Pushpdant Sagar Ji Maharaj, after which he was given the name “Prateek Sagar Maharaj.”
From tomorrow, Muni Shri will begin his spiritual journey towards Punjab and will visit various places including Ludhiana, Amritsar, Jalandhar, and others. On this occasion, all office bearers and members of Shri Digamber Jain Society, Chandigarh, along with devotees from Panchkula and Zirakpur, were present. The program was conducted by Advocate Shri Adarsh Jain and Shri Sant Kumar Jain (General Secretary, Shri Digamber Jain Society, Chandigarh). At the end of the program, Shri Dharam Bahadur Jain, President of Shri Digamber Jain Society, Chandigarh, expressed his gratitude to all PRESENT attendees. The event concluded with a community meal enjoyed by everyone.
