S.A.S.Nagar May 31( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : On Sunday, Education Department employees marched towards Chandigarh to surround Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's official residence with other legitimate demands including restoration of Punjab scale, old pension and allowances, but Mohali and Chandigarh Police blocked the path of the protesters by erecting barricades near Nature Park in Mohali behind Burail Jail. Due to which tension increased due to the scuffle between the police and employees.
Education Department employees had gathered in front of Gurdwara Amb Sahib at 11 am today under the banner of Old Scale, Old Pension and Allowance Restoration Morcha. From here, they started the march towards the Chief Minister's residence on foot. The organization's provincial leaders Vikramdev Singh, Mahinder Kodiawali, Kuldeep Singh Barnala, Deepak Kamboj, Rajinder Singh Sandha, Gurdeep Bassi, Sandeep Gill, Shalinder Kamboj, Gurmeet Singh Bhunder and Jagmohan Singh said that they have been struggling for their demands step by step for a long time but so far nothing has been achieved except false slogans.
