Chandigarh 27 June ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : A sweet water Chabeel and Kale chane langar were organized in Ward No. 26, which falls under the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation ward number 26, dedicated to the martyrdom of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur. Block President Sardar Harjinder Singh Prince served diligently in the langar service. Vinod Kumar Bittu, Bhupinder Singh, Prayag Chand, Jaswinder Kaur, Navjot Singh, Sarvjot Kaur, Gurpreet Singh, Angrez Singh, Vijay Singh Geetaram, and Rekha Rani also served in the distribution of langar prasad.
Harjinder Singh Prince highlighted the martyrdom of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur and his historical contribution, stating that his martyrdom symbolizes unwavering faith, perseverance, and supreme sacrifice in Sikh history. He stated that Baba Banda Singh Bahadur left an indelible mark on history by establishing the Sikh Raj. He encouraged Sikh youth to draw inspiration from his life and follow his ideals. On Baba Banda Singh Bahadur's martyrdom day (in June), Chhabeel (cool, sweet water) gatherings are held in Gurdwaras and public places to commemorate his indomitable valor and sacrifice. During this time, passersby are provided with cold, sweet water, Chhabeel, and Prasad in the scorching heat.
