All India Ambedkar Mahasabha (Regd.) Membership Campaign Begins in Punjab
Takes a pledge to spread the thoughts and ideals of Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar among the masses
Chandigarh 26 June ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : With the objective of spreading the thoughts, principles, and values of the Indian Constitution as envisioned by Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar to every section of society and strengthening the organization at the grassroots level, the All India Ambedkar Mahasabha (Registered) has launched its membership campaign in Punjab. After the successful launch of the campaign in Haryana, the initiative has now been expanded to Punjab. A special program was organized at Punjab Bhawan, Chandigarh, where Punjab Government Cabinet Minister, Department of Social Welfare, Dr. Baljit Kaur, formally inaugurated the membership campaign on June 26 at 10:00 AM. National President of the Mahasabha, Dr. Rakesh Bahadur, said that the organization is currently actively working in 18 states. He stated that the All India Ambedkar Mahasabha is not limited to any particular caste, religion, or section, but is a common platform for all those who believe in the ideology of Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, social justice, equality, and constitutional values.
He said that the life of Babasaheb was not only a story of struggle but also a symbol of the fight for education, self-respect, rights, and human dignity. His message was that education is the greatest weapon to free society from ignorance, discrimination, and inequality. National General Secretary Amrik Singh Bangar said that the main objective of the membership campaign is to strengthen the organization at the village, town, and city levels. Through this campaign, people will be made aware of their fundamental rights, duties, and social responsibilities provided under the Constitution. He said that Babasaheb Dr. Ambedkar worked throughout his life for establishing equality, liberty, and brotherhood in society. He made historic contributions towards women’s rights, workers’ welfare, promotion of education, and ensuring dignity for weaker sections.National Treasurer Reena Gavaskar Valmiki informed that detailed discussions were held regarding the future strategy of the organization, social issues, and the action plan for the membership campaign. She said that this campaign, which started from Ambala, will be extended to different states of the country in a phased manner. She further said that following Babasaheb’s principles and the vision of equal participation of women, women leaders have been given responsibilities in five states so that women’s role in nation and society building can be further strengthened.
Punjab State President Nirmal Jeet said that the aim of the All India Ambedkar Mahasabha is to spread Babasaheb’s thoughts among the masses, eliminate social evils and caste-based discrimination, and build a society based on constitutional values. He said that Babasaheb dreamed of an India where every person gets equal opportunities and no one faces discrimination on the basis of birth, caste, or economic status. He believed that democracy is not only a political system but also a means to achieve social and economic equality.
The program was attended by people associated with the Ambedkarite ideology from Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and various other states. Senior Vice President Palwinder Singh, State General Secretary Rajinder Pal Singh, Rajbir Singh Bhartiya, Aman Jolly, Om Prakash, Inder Ranga, Naresh Bodh, Raj Kumar, Jaspal Singh, Sunil, Bhagat Raj, Mange Ram Katyal, Balwinder Kumar, Anshul Sharma, Ajit Singh, Parminder Singh, Kuldeep Rai, Harbans Singh, Joga Singh, Surjit Kadiyana, Dr. Mohinder Kumar, Love Kumar, Devender Tank, singer Sonu Sherdil, Mohinder Pal, Rajinder Kumar, and many other dignitaries were present. The All India Ambedkar Mahasabha appealed to people from all sections of society to come forward and adopt Babasaheb’s message — “Educate, Organize and Struggle” — in their lives and contribute towards building an equal, just, and constitutionally empowered India.
