SGPC Should Send Legal Notice to Arshdeep Singh Kaler : Gurpratap Singh Wadala Chandigarh 6 August ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Shiromani Akali Dal Punar-Surjit General Secretary Gurpratap Singh Wadala, in a written press statement, said that the SGPC President announced today during a press conference that a legal notice was being sent to a news channel for allegedly starting the live broadcast of Gurbani without authorization. IIT Ropar Welcomes Bihar Delegation Under Yuva Sangam Phase VI

Inaugural Ceremony Held at Senate Hall Under Ministry of Education's Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Initiative

Ropar 8 June ( PDL ) : The Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (IIT Ropar) hosted the Inaugural Ceremony welcoming the Bihar delegation as part of Yuva Sangam Phase VI, a flagship youth exchange programme of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India. The ceremony was held at the Senate Hall, IIT Ropar, and was presided over by Prof. Rajeev Ahuja, Director, IIT Ropar, as Chief Guest. The delegation, hosted by IIT Patna in Bihar, arrived at IIT Ropar campus was accorded a warm traditional welcome by students, faculty, and staff. The delegates were received with floral garlands in the true spirit of Punjabi hospitality, marking the beginning of their six-day immersive visit to the state of Punjab.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Rajeev Ahuja said that Yuva Sangam is not merely a cultural exchange programme but a powerful instrument of national integration. He expressed confidence that the interaction between young people from Bihar and Punjab would forge bonds that go far beyond their time on campus. Prof. Ahuja also recalled IIT Ropar's earlier flagging off of the Punjab delegation to Bihar on 22 May 2026, noting that the reciprocal visit completes a meaningful circle of friendship between the two states.

IIT Ropar has been designated as the Nodal Institution for Punjab under Yuva Sangam Phase VI, paired with Bihar. The programme, conducted under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) initiative, is structured around five thematic pillars: Paryatan (Tourism), Parampara (Traditions and Culture), Pragati (Development and Governance), Paraspar Sampark (People-to-People Connect), and Prodyogiki (Technology and Innovation). Phase VI encompasses 22 Higher Education Institutions across the country, facilitating large-scale youth exchanges between paired states.

Over the next six days, the Bihar delegates will undertake a structured programme across Punjab, including visits to historical and cultural sites, academic interactions, laboratory tours at IIT Ropar, and engagement with local communities. The programme is designed to give delegates a lived understanding of Punjab's heritage, governance achievements, and technological innovation.
