Important Meeting of Haryana PWD Contractors on June 18; Pending Demands and Key Issues to be Discussed
Chandigarh 17 June ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The All Haryana PWD Contractors Association will hold its General Body Meeting (GBM) on June 18 at 11:30 AM at the Convention Hall, Ground Floor, Nirman Sadan, Sector 33-A, Chandigarh. Subsequently, at 1:00 PM, the office-bearers of the association will announce their future course of action and strategy at the same venue. The meeting will bring together PWD contractors from across Haryana to deliberate on various issues related to the department, pending demands, and the practical challenges being faced by contractors in executing government projects.
Association Chairman Ashok Jain said that contractors have been facing serious financial difficulties due to the sharp rise in the prices of construction materials, particularly petroleum products and bitumen. He noted that under such circumstances, it has become extremely difficult to complete ongoing development projects at the existing contract rates.
Jain further stated that the association has already urged the government to provide a relief package, review existing contract rates, and grant extensions for ongoing works in view of the escalating costs. He emphasized that the upcoming meeting will serve as an important platform for contractors to collectively discuss their concerns and formulate a united strategy for pursuing their demands before the government and departmental authorities. The association has appealed to all members and contractors to participate in large numbers and contribute their suggestions to strengthen efforts aimed at resolving the issues facing the contracting community.
