Chandigarh 27 July ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : City residents can now enjoy the taste of their favorite roadside street food in a clean and hygienic environment, at prices comparable to those of street vendors. "Hive Food Lobby"—a street-style eatery featuring a hygienic open kitchen—was inaugurated on Monday at SCO-2, Sector 21, by senior BJP leader Sanjay Tandon, BJP President Jatinder Malhotra, and Chandigarh Mayor Saurabh Joshi. Prominent citizens, representatives from the industrial sector, and a large number of food lovers participated in the inauguration ceremony.
The standout feature of this startup, founded by Deepika Dhawan—an entrepreneur holding a master's degree from Brunel University, London—is its hygienic open kitchen, where fresh street food will be prepared right in front of customers. Special attention has been paid to cleanliness and quality in the showroom, while the prices of all dishes have been kept on par with roadside street food.Deepika Dhawan said that her aim is to provide people with an option where taste, hygiene, and affordability all come together. He said that given the popularity of street food, people will now be able to enjoy their favorite dishes without worrying about hygiene. The guests present at the event appreciated the initiative, describing it as a positive step towards providing clean and safe food that would give a new identity to the city's food culture.
