Announcement of a nationwide movement at Delhi’s Kisan Ghat on July 21, demanding the cancellation of the India-US trade agreement, a legal guarantee for MSP, complete debt waivers, and effective water management.

Chandigarh 1 July ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : A crucial national meeting of various farmers', workers', students', youth, and social organizations was held today at Kisan Bhawan, Sector-35A, Chandigarh, with the aim of protecting the rights of the country's farmers, laborers, employees, students, youth, and ordinary citizens. Representatives from numerous prominent organizations and activist forums across the country participated in the meeting. The platform was unanimously named "Desh Bachao Morcha" (Save the Nation Front).

During the meeting, the participants strongly opposed the India-US trade agreement being pursued by the Central Government and resolved to ensure its cancellation at any cost.* The speakers stated that this agreement poses a serious threat to the country's farmers, workers, small traders, and youth, as well as to the nation's economic self-reliance. At the meeting, a decision was taken to launch a joint struggle based on the following key demands:

The India-US trade agreement must be immediately cancelled.

A legal guarantee for Minimum Support Price (MSP) based on the 'C2+50%' formula—as recommended by the Swaminathan Commission—must be provided for all crops.

Complete debt waivers for farmers must be ensured.

A permanent solution to the country's water crisis must be found through the effective implementation of water conservation, water management, and the National Water Policy.

Farmers must be assured of a remunerative price for their produce, among other demands.

In pursuit of these demands, the 'Desh Bachao Morcha' announced that a massive, one-day nationwide protest and public rally would be held on July 21, 2026, at Kisan Ghat in Delhi. Farmers, workers, employees, students, youth, and representatives of various people's organizations from across the country are expected to participate in large numbers. As part of the preparations for the movement, motorcycle marches will be organized across the country at the tehsil, block, and district levels on July 15, 2026, and memoranda addressed to the Prime Minister of India will be submitted, aiming to run a mass awareness campaign reaching every village.
A six-member committee was constituted at the meeting to oversee the movement and coordinate future programs; responsibilities were assigned to Gurnam Singh Chaduni, Sarwan Singh Pandher, V.M. Singh, Sarjit Singh Phool, Prakash Pohre, and Shiv Kumar Kakka. The 'Desh Bachao Morcha' called upon the country's farmers, workers, students, youth, and all citizens to gather in large numbers at Kisan Ghat, Delhi, on July 21, 2026, to make this historic mass movement a success and to unite in protecting the nation, agriculture, employment, natural resources, and the public interest.
