Chandigarh 14 July ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Excitement is steadily building among Punjabi cinema lovers for the much-awaited film Ishqnama. The film’s trailer was unveiled on Tuesday at a grand event held at Hotel Radison, creating a wave of excitement on social media. One of the biggest highlights of the film is the first-ever on-screen pairing of actor Jayy Randhawa and actress Shehnaaz Gill, a collaboration that has generated immense curiosity among fans. The trailor offers a powerful glimpse of romance, action and emotional drama. Speaking to the media, actors Jayy Randhawa, Shehnaaz Gill, Saurabh Sachdeva, Anjum Batra, Nirmal Nimma and Dheeraj Rattan, along with director Arvinder Singh Khaira, said the film is inspired by true love and real-life incidents. Jayy Randhawa will be seen portraying ‘Nimma’, while Shehnaaz Gill plays ‘Nazima’.
According to the makers, Jayy Randhawa underwent a remarkable physical transformation and rigorous training to do justice to his role. He also sustained injuries while filming a high-risk action sequence but continued shooting with complete dedication and commitment. The film also features renowned singer B Praak, actors Anjum Batra, Saurabh Sachdeva, and several other prominent artistes in key roles. The music and lyrics by Jaani are expected to be among the film’s major highlights. Ishqnama is directed by Arvinder Singh Khaira and produced by Saurabh Rana.
Mounted on a grand scale, the film has been shot across various locations in Punjab as well as picturesque destinations in Rajasthan. Following the release of Badnaam in 2025, Ishqnama marks Jayy Randhawa’s first Punjabi film of 2026. The makers have announced that Ishqnama will hit cinemas worldwide on July 24, 2026.
