Chandigarh 6 July ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : In a significant step towards promoting sustainable and eco-friendly mobility, Chandigarh Mayor Saurabh Joshi on Monday inaugurated the Acer EV showroom in Sector 22. The showroom aims to provide residents with an affordable and environmentally friendly transportation alternative amid rising petrol and diesel prices. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Senior Deputy Mayor Jasman Singh, Deputy Mayor Suman, area councillor Damanpreet Singh, nominated councillor Umesh Ghai, EBG Group Founder Dr. Irfan Khan, and Group President Suresh Goyal.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Irfan Khan said that the Acer EV range, comprising electric motorcycles, scooters, and bicycles, has been launched across India by the EBG Group. Equipped with modern technology, superior mileage, and low operating costs, these vehicles offer a reliable and sustainable alternative to conventional fuel-powered transportation. Dr. Khan added that the EBG Group, while having a strong presence in the wellness industry, is also expanding into several other sectors with a focus on innovation and sustainable development. He said the new showroom in the heart of Sector 22 would make electric mobility more accessible to the people of Chandigarh.
Chandigarh In-charge Suresh Goyal said that with fuel prices continuing to rise and environmental concerns becoming increasingly important, the demand for electric vehicles is witnessing steady growth. The new showroom will offer customers quality electric motorcycles, scooters, bicycles, comprehensive after-sales support, and a convenient buying experience under one roof. During the event, Mayor Saurabh Joshi appreciated the initiative to promote green mobility and indicated that he would soon be seen riding an electric bicycle, reinforcing the message of adopting clean and sustainable modes of transport. He expressed confidence that such initiatives would encourage more citizens to embrace electric mobility and contribute towards a cleaner, greener Chandigarh.
