If the Governor does not give time to meet, then there will be a massive protest march to Lok Bhawan : Riot Victims Society announces
Chandigarh 10 July ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) Senior leader of Akali Dal Waris Punjab and MLA from Dakha constituency Sardar Manpreet Singh Ayali has termed it extremely unfortunate in the matter of not taking stock of the 84 riot victims' families. Sardar Ayali said that the families who were victims of the biggest genocide of Sikhs are forced to protest today regarding their demands. Not giving time to listen to them by the Punjab Governor is extremely unfortunate. Sardar Ayali said that the Akali Dal Waris Punjab stands with the 84 riot victims with its strength.
Today, hundreds of 1984 riot victim families raised slogans against the Punjab government and said that it has been a month since the Governor of Punjab asked the Riot Victims Welfare Society to meet them to resolve their issues. The Governor gave them time to meet twice but they were rejected. The 1984 victim families are very upset with this behavior of the Governor House and the Governor's ADC is neither picking up the society's phone nor is any satisfactory response being given.
The Riot Victims Society has decided that if the Riot Victims Welfare Society is not given time to meet them by 11 am tomorrow, July 11, then the society will take out a protest march to the Governor House at 11 am tomorrow. On this occasion, Surjit Singh, President of the Riot Victims Welfare Society, Bibi Gurdeep Kaur, President, Rani Dhaliwal, Daljit Singh Soni, Satnam Singh Satta, Sukhwinder Singh Bhatia Chandigarh, Inderpal Singh Vicky, Man Singh, Kashmir Singh Raiya, Paramjit Singh, Harpreet Singh, Jaspreet Singh, Manjit Kaur, Gurdev Kaur etc. were present.
