Punjab Government Cannot Turn a Blind Eye While Paper Leaks Continue; Accountability Must Be Fixed for Those Playing with the Future of Youth : Manjinder Singh Sirsa

Why is Arvind Kejriwal, who joins students' protests in Delhi, silent over the alleged series of paper leaks in Punjab?

If the Aam Aadmi Party truly cares about students' futures, its concern should not be limited to Delhi; justice must also be ensured for lakhs of youth in Punjab.

Social activist Abhijeet Deepke, who shared the stage with Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi, should also demand justice for Punjab's youth and seek the resignation of Punjab's Education Minister.

Chandigarh 25 July ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Delhi Cabinet Minister and senior Sikh leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa called upon the Punjab Government to fix accountability and take strict action against those responsible for the alleged paper leak cases reported in the state. He said that if the confidentiality of competitive examinations is repeatedly compromised in any state, it is the government's responsibility to ensure a time-bound and impartial investigation and take stringent action against those found responsible. He alleged that despite reports of irregularities in several competitive examinations in Punjab, no clear accountability has been established so far.

Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal actively participates in student movements and protests in Delhi while consistently questioning the Central Government. He alleged that students in Delhi are encouraged to agitate and protests are used as a means of exerting political pressure. However, when one alleged paper leak after another surfaces in Punjab, the same leaders maintain complete silence. He said that if there is genuine concern for students' futures, it should not be confined to Delhi alone. The demand for justice for lakhs of young people in Punjab deserves the same level of concern and vocal support.

Sirsa said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central Government has introduced stringent legal provisions to ensure transparency in public examinations and curb incidents such as paper leaks. He said that while the Centre is taking firm measures in this direction, it is equally important to question the accountability of the Punjab Government and its Education Minister. He further said that if moral responsibility is demanded in similar cases elsewhere, the same standards should apply to Punjab's Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains. He questioned why certain political parties and their leaders remain silent on this issue.

Manjinder Singh Sirsa also referred to the public statement made by student movement-associated social activist Abhijeet Deepke, who had said that if incidents of injustice towards students or paper leaks emerged in Punjab, he would also raise his voice against them. He said the time has now come for all stakeholders to stand by their words and fight equally for the interests of Punjab's youth. He alleged that cases of irregularities have reportedly surfaced in the Naib Tehsildar Recruitment Examination, paper leaks linked to the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB), the Agriculture Officer Recruitment Examination, and the Pharmacist Recruitment Examination conducted by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences. He said these incidents have affected the confidence of lakhs of students, and the government should clearly explain what action has been taken in each case.

He said that whenever incidents such as paper leaks come to light in any state, there must be a fair investigation, stringent action against those responsible, and, where necessary, political accountability must also be fixed. There should be no double standards when it comes to safeguarding students' futures. Sirsa demanded that the Punjab Government conduct a time-bound and impartial investigation into all alleged paper leak cases, ensure strict action against those responsible, and stated that Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains has no moral right to continue in office. He said that such action would strengthen students' confidence in the examination system and send a clear message that no compromise with the future of the country's youth will be tolerated.
