Chandigarh 20 July ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM), a constituent party of the NDA alliance at the Centre, held a press conference at the Chandigarh Press Club today, announcing its intention to contest the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections in alliance with the NDA. While making the announcement, the party's National Senior Vice President and National Media Incharge AK Bajpai said that the AAP government in Punjab led by Bhagwant Mann has failed to fulfil any of the promises it had made to the people of Punjab before the previous Assembly elections.
Along with him in the press conference, the party's National Vice President Prithviraj Yadav, President of the party's Punjab unit Devinder Singh, General Secretary Harpreet Singh Shergill, Vice Presidents Avinash Soni, Sanjay and Jagtar, Treasurer Prakash Maurya, along with the party's President in UP Ram Singh Rana, Delhi State President Hari Prakash, District President of Rupnagar Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, President of Doaba region of Punjab Ravinder Bhatia, besides the Chairman of the party's Coordination Committee Manjinder Singh Cheema etc. were also present.AK Bajpai said that Punjab is now burdened with debts of millions of crores, but Bhagwant Mann's government has become a mere advertising power. He has neither been able to eradicate drug addiction as promised nor has he been able to find a solution to the problems faced by the state's common people and farmers. He said that in view of all these current circumstances, his party has decided that they will form a double engine government in Punjab in alliance with NDA.
Speaking on the ongoing protest of Cockroach Janata Party in Delhi, he said that following the instructions of Delhi High Court, Delhi Police had removed Sonam Wangchuk from there and sent him to the hospital because his health was deteriorating and keeping this in mind the court had issued orders. Bajpai said that since the NEET exam has been successfully conducted again and the results have also been declared, there is no reason to protest now.
