ector-19 Market Committee Meets UT Administrator, Seeks Approval for Box-Type Structures in SCS and SCO Buildings
Similar Permission Has Already Been Granted in Sectors 16 and 30
Chandigarh 1 July ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : A delegation of the Sector-19 Market Committee met the Governor of Punjab and Administrator of UT Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, to seek approval for the long-pending demand to permit box-type structures on the first and second floors of Shop-cum-Shop (SCS) and Shop-cum-Office (SCO) buildings in Sectors 19-C and 19-D.
The delegation informed the Administrator that the matter has remained pending for a considerable period. During the meeting, the Administrator also discussed the issue with officials of the Chandigarh Administration's Planning Committee. The officials informed him that similar permissions had already been granted for commercial buildings in Sector 16 and Sector 30, and that the process for granting the same approval in Sector 19 would also be completed at the earliest.
The Administrator assured the delegation that the proposal would be processed on a priority basis and every effort would be made to secure its approval at the earliest. He also spoke to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) and directed that the necessary report be submitted without delay, while emphasizing that the matter concerning the showrooms in Sector 19 should be expedited.
On the occasion, a memorandum signed by the showroom owners of Sectors 19-C and 19-D was also submitted to the Administrator. The delegation was led by Vinod Talwar, President of the Sector-19 Market Committee. He was accompanied by Anshul Arora, Vicky Manchanda, and Chandan Bhatia.
