The Mann government did nothing but use the name of Shaheed Bhagat Singh: Comrade Sekhon
Jalandhar 12 July (PDL) : Janwadi Naujawan Sabha and Students Federation of India celebrated the 36th death anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh's close associate and eminent patriot Pandit Kishori Lal at the local Desh Bhagat Yadgar Hall. On the occasion of this state event, prominent leaders of the Left movement of Punjab and former state president of DYFI, Comrade Sukhwinder Singh Sekhon, National Treasurer of DYFI, Sanjeev Kumar, National General Secretary of SFI, Comrade Sirijan Bhattacharya and Central Committee Member, Comrade Shilpa were present. The event was presided over by Comrade Sukhwinder Singh Nagi, Comrade Sukhdeep Singh Grewal, Comrade Jeevan Singh Sohal and Comrade Shilpa.
Speaking on the occasion, Comrade Bhattacharya said that the dreams of patriots like Pandit Kishori Lal to establish a socialist state system with economic and social equality and free from looting need to be taken forward by the youth. The student leader said that one lakh government schools have been closed in the last one year. There is always a scam in the medical exam NEET. Fees and funds are being increased continuously. The government does not pay any attention to education and employment. He said that the heritage of Punjab is of revolutionary and historical militant struggles. He stressed on organizing and mobilizing the youth and students of the state.
On this occasion, the leader of the Left Democratic Movement of Punjab and former state president of DYFI, Sukhwinder Singh Sekhon, said that the communal, divisive and backward forces occupying power in the country have no concern with the basic demands of the working people of the country like bread, clothes, housing, water, electricity and roads etc. The Modi government is patronizing the Adanis-Ambanis and corporates and is giving open gaffes to these families. He said that Pandit Kishori Lal ji dedicated his entire life to the country and the working people. Pandit ji was a source of inspiration for the youth. He sharply criticized the Bhagwant Mann government and said that except for using the name of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, the Punjab government has not done anything in reality.
Speaking on the occasion, National Treasurer of Janwadi Naujawan Sabha Sanjeev Kumar said that the Central Government has not inaugurated a single new factory during its tenure, but on the contrary, it has closed lakhs of factories and looted the country's natural resources to the Ambanis-Adanis.
