DPS Chandigarh students take lead in organ donation awareness campaign
Chandigarh 10 August ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : In an effort to sensitise young minds to the importance of organ donation, Grade VI students of Delhi Public School (DPS), Chandigarh, organised an awareness drive focusing on how organ and tissue donation after death can help save lives.
The student-led campaign, spearheaded by the school director through her SRD Foundation, used debates, talk shows, quizzes and fact-checking sessions to engage students and address misconceptions surrounding organ donation. Students discussed the importance and possibilities of donating organs and tissues, including eyes, heart, liver, lungs and skin. The interactive presentations also focused on separating facts from myths associated with post-mortem donation.
The programme was presided over by school principal Pawan Singh and vice-principal Sapna Nagpal, who appreciated the students for their confidence, research and efforts to raise awareness on a socially significant issue. The initiative aimed to encourage students to take the message beyond the classroom and become advocates for informed conversations on organ donation among their families and wider community.
