Overgrown Grass and Wild Bushes on Footpath and Cycle Track Near Hello Majra Light Point Pose Serious Safety Risk Chandigarh 28 August ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The footpath and cycle track along the road from Hello Majra Light Point towards the Ambala–Chandigarh Highway are currently covered with excessive overgrown grass, bushes and wild vegetation. The lack of regular cleaning and maintenance is causing inconvenience to pedestrians and cyclists and is also affecting the cleanliness and beauty of Chandigarh. Social Worker Arvind Singh has urged the concerned departments to take immediate action and get the entire stretch properly cleaned and the overgrown grass and bushes removed. He said that the present condition is particularly dangerous during the night. If a person meets with an accident and falls near the roadside or footpath, the dense bushes and vegetation could make it difficult for anyone to notice or locate the person in time. Jalandhar 27 August ( PDL ) : The Joint Coordination Committee, formed based on the Punjab Employees and Pensioners Joint Front and the Joint Employees Forum, was given a written invitation letter by the Chief Minister of Punjab for a meeting at PAP Jalandhar today, this meeting was earlier to be held at Punjab Bhawan Chandigarh. The leaders of the Joint Front said that the Chief Minister has again avoided holding a meeting today. The prominent leaders of the Joint Coordination Committee from the Golf Club of PAP Jalandhar, Gurnam Singh Virk, Satish Rana, Sukhchain Singh Khaira, Ranjit Singh Ranwa, Sushil Kumar Fauji, Karam Singh Dhanoa, Harjinder Singh Pannu, Jarmanjit Singh, Manpreet Singh, Bhajan Singh Gill, NK Kalsi, Manjit Singh Basarke, Tarsem Singh Bhattal, Sukhdev Singh Saini, Gursharan Singh Hundal, Gagandeep Singh Bhullar, Didar Singh Chokar, Amrik Singh Kang, Dilpreet Singh, Digvijay Pal Sharma, Harnek Singh, Avtar Singh Kaith, Raghveer Singh Badwal and Jagdish Singh Chahal, said that during the grand rally held in Chandigarh on August 7, the Joint Coordination Committee was given a meeting time of August 27 at Punjab Bhawan, Chandigarh, but the venue was changed to PAP Jalandhar last evening. 

The police administration took the colleagues to the golf club for the meeting, where the civil and police administrations pressured them that the Chief Minister had imposed a condition for the meeting that the employees should first write that they would end the strike and join duty today, and then the meeting would be held. This condition of the Chief Minister was rejected by the employee leaders and the Chief Minister again ran away from holding the meeting. The said leaders said that this is just a truce for now, there is more war ahead. The leaders strongly condemned this dictatorial behavior of the Chief Minister and announced that on August 28 and 29, effigies of the Chief Minister will be burnt in front of all the districts, tehsils, block centers and various departments and government institutions of Punjab, and copies of the anti-employee tweet and the threatening letter of August 27 will be burned. All the leaders said that not giving a written invitation to the employee leadership of Punjab and not holding a meeting is a big fraud on lakhs of employees and pensioners. The above leaders announced that the government has rejected the letter issued regarding the striking employees and accepted the challenge. A meeting of all the organizations of Punjab has been called in Ludhiana on August 30, in which the next fierce struggle will be announced.
