Independence Day celebrated with enthusiasm in Sri Durga Temple.
Patriotic tunes echoed during Bhajan Sandhya, Mayor Sarabjit Singh Samana was specially honored.
S.A.S.Nagar 16 August ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : A special function was organized on the occasion of Independence Day at Sri Durga Temple located in Phase-10 of Mohali in collaboration with Sri Trinath Seva Sansthan and the temple committee. Along with the office bearers of Trinath Seva Sansthan, members of the Bhajan Mandali also participated in the function. During the Bhajan Sandhya organized during this time, the devotees were seen in the colors of devotion and patriotism. Mohali Mayor Sarabjit Singh Samana attended the event as the chief guest. Apart from this, a large number of devotees including temple committee president Rajesh Sharma, Jagmohan Dogra, general secretary J.P. Tokhi, women's wing president Mrs. Meena Saini and local councilor Gauri attended the event.
During the function, Mohali Mayor Sarabjit Singh Samana was specially honored by the temple committee and the organizers. Addressing the people present on this occasion, the Mayor said that the country did not get freedom easily, but for this our great freedom fighters fought a long struggle and sacrificed everything. He said that we should never forget the freedom struggle and the sacrifices of the martyrs. We should always move forward with full loyalty and responsibility to realize those dreams of the heroes who had dreamed for the country.
During the Bhajan Sandhya, the Bhajan Mandali presented devotional and patriotic Bhajans, which filled the entire atmosphere of the temple with devotion. The devotees also participated enthusiastically and paid homage to the great martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country. On this occasion, the speakers said that Independence Day is not only a national festival, but also an opportunity to remember the sacrifices and devotion of the brave sons of the country. At the end of the event, everyone wished for the unity, integrity and progress of the country.
