My guess was almost right during the last Lok Sabha elections : Raman

Chandigarh 4 August ( PDL ) : During the last Lok Sabha elections, my assessment turned out to be largely accurate. Looking at the country's current situation, one thing appears clear: the BJP seems to be steadily losing its grip on power at the Centre. In the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, as well as the Assembly elections scheduled in various states, people across the country appear eager to show the BJP the political reality on the ground.

There is little accountability in the name of responsibility. Politics centered on religion and Hindu-Muslim polarization cannot address the real needs and aspirations of the people. Beyond the interests of Adani and Ambani, the Prime Minister seemed unable to see much else. The economic disruptions caused by demonetization and the COVID-19 pandemic have left deep scars on the lives of ordinary citizens.

This assessment is largely in line with the changing political temperament of the younger generation. Today, even the national media—much of which is often criticized as being sympathetic to the government—was unable to shape a favorable narrative for the BJP-led central government during the protests at Jantar Mantar. Small independent YouTubers effectively challenged the influence of mainstream media. The Prime Minister himself had to appear before cameras and attempt to calm the anger of students. A party known for linking almost every issue to national security found itself unable to blame either Jawaharlal Nehru or the Congress Party in this instance. Even when Dharmendra Pradhan resigned, instead of offering an apology to the people, he appeared to present his resignation as a sacrifice made in the national interest. However, the country's youth largely rejected that narrative.

India is passing through a new political phase. The path is becoming increasingly difficult for the established leadership. The country's politics is moving toward new experiments and new expectations. During the Monsoon Session, Rakhi Birla sharply criticized both Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The political potency of the Ram Mandir issue and the invocation of Lord Ram, once central to BJP politics, now appears to be diminishing. While invaders such as Mahmud of Ghazni once looted temple wealth, today many people believe they know who is responsible for contemporary allegations of misappropriation and who is being held accountable.

Soaring inflation, shrinking employment opportunities, a growing population, and the deteriorating condition of cities both large and small are raising new questions. The lack of effective plans to improve the standard of living for ordinary people, along with the reality of children being born to malnourished mothers, continues to expose the challenges facing the nation. The Prime Minister's often-repeated story of having once sold tea, and the promise of "Achhe Din" (better days), now appears to many as a reminder of unfulfilled expectations.The country is entering a new era. New political issues are emerging, Generation Z is becoming an increasingly influential force in politics, and religion-based politics appears to be approaching its final stage of relevance.
