A Proud Moment for the Family, Media Fraternity and the Entire State of Haryana
Chandigarh 12 September ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : It is a matter of immense pride and happiness for the Saini family that their younger daughter, Bhavika Saini, has been selected for the prestigious Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in the United Kingdom. The four-year structured PhD programme is primarily funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). Bhavika will conduct research in the field of PM2.5 and air pollution. During the programme, she will have the opportunity to work under the guidance of renowned researchers associated with the prestigious University of Birmingham and University of Bristol. Her research is highly significant in today's times, particularly from the perspectives of human health and environmental protection.
What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that Bhavika is the youngest researcher among the cohort of 20 researchers selected by the CDT and the only researcher selected from South Asia, India and Haryana. Her roots are connected to Rohtak, Haryana, making her achievement a matter of immense pride for the region. A meritorious student, Bhavika completed her BS-MS in Earth and Environmental Sciences from the prestigious IISER Bhopal in July this year. She has also undertaken specialised studies on marine life at the National Institute of Oceanography, Goa, and has received scholarships in recognition of her academic excellence.
Bhavika reached Birmingham on Friday, and from Monday, a new, exciting and important chapter of her academic and research journey begins. Her parents, Manvir Saini and Kiran Saini, expressed immense happiness and pride over their daughter's achievement and said that her success was not only a proud moment for the family but also a matter of honour for Haryana and India. “As parents, our greatest happiness is to see our daughter turn her dreams into reality through her hard work, dedication and knowledge. Bhavika has made our family proud and has brought honour to Rohtak, Haryana and India. We hope that her research will make a meaningful contribution towards addressing the challenges of air pollution and improving human health and the environment. We wish her every success as she begins this new chapter of her life.”
