Farmers persisting even in heavy rain
Thousands of farmers marched from Besteck Square Mall to the pandal
Farmers will stand at the squares on Airport Road from 5 pm to 7 pm to spread flags and demands
Chandigarh/S.A.S.Nagar 4 September ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The Chandigarh Morcha being run by the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha Punjab continued for the fourth day today. Even heavy rain could not dampen the spirits of the farmers. The stage could not be operated today as the pandal was wet due to rain, so the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha marched from Besteck Square Mall to the pandal with the participation of thousands of farmers. Yesterday, the administration had assured to hold talks with the government by today, but today DIG Nanak Singh and his team sought one more day's respite from the leaders of the morcha. The Sanyukt Kisan Morcha has decided to give a respite till tomorrow after holding a meeting.
Today's meeting of the United Kisan Morcha was chaired by the presidium consisting of Raminder Singh Patiala, Angrez Singh Bhadaur and Tarsem Singh. The meeting expressed strong protest against the disrespectful attitude of the Central and Punjab governments towards the demand letter sent by the United Kisan Morcha and decided that in future our agitation will be taken forward in a phased manner. As a first step, a march was taken out today. Tomorrow, at least 20-20 workers of each farmer organization will stand at all the intersections on the Airport Road holding flags and placards of demands and express their campaign and protest without blocking traffic.
Harinder Singh Lakhowal, Mukesh Chander Sharma, Buta Singh Burjgill, Dr. Satnam Singh Ajnala, Jangveer Singh Chauhan, Baldev Singh Nihalgarh, Prem Singh Bhangu, Bahadar Singh, Kanwalpreet Singh Pannu, Balwinder Singh Raju Aulakh, Dalvir Singh Sidhupur, Daljinder Singh Sher Khan, Jaskaran Singh, Jarnail Singh, Harbhajan Singh Buttar, Ratan Singh, Charanjit Singh, Bhupinder Singh Aulakh, Nachhattar Singh Jaito, Manjit Singh Dhaner, Bogh Singh Mansa, Gurmeet Singh Bhattiwal, Harinder Singh Tiwana and Pavitar Singh Lali were present in today's meeting.
