Poor Condition of Sector-32 Chowk Slip Road Causes Serious Public Inconvenience
Chandigarh 16 September ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : A humble request to the Chandigarh Administration to kindly take immediate notice of the poor condition of the slip road from Sector-32 Chowk on the Chandigarh–Ambala Highway towards GMCH Sector-32 Hospital. Around 7–8 months ago, pipeline work was carried out on this road, after which the road was filled back, but proper restoration and repair have still not been completed. During the rains, the condition became even worse. Following an earlier complaint, gravel was dumped on the road, but it was not properly levelled or compacted with a road roller.
As a result, the uneven surface and loose stones are causing daily problems for commuters. Bicycles, motorcycles and cars are frequently getting punctured or suffering tyre damage. More importantly, ambulances carrying patients also use this route to reach the hospital, making the matter a serious concern for public safety and emergency medical access. “A road meant to provide convenience should not become a daily source of risk and hardship for the public.”
I therefore sincerely request the Chandigarh Administration and the concerned department to inspect the site and arrange proper and permanent restoration of the road at the earliest. We sincerely hope that the matter will be resolved at the departmental level itself. If the issue remains unresolved despite repeated requests, we may be compelled to raise the matter through the PMO/CPGRAMS public grievance portal in the larger public interest. Our priority, however, is that the concerned authorities resolve this genuine public problem promptly at their own level.
