Swachhata Hi Seva 6.0: CBC, PIB Chandigarh And MY Bharat Convey The Message Of "Jan Bhagidari" With Youth
Chandigarh 26 September ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Under the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva 6.0’ campaign being run under the Swachh Bharat Mission, to promote "Jan Bhagidari" for cleanliness, the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) and Press Information Bureau (PIB), Chandigarh, in coordination with MY Bharat, Chandigarh, organised a Cleanliness Drive, Swachhata Pledge and Awareness Rally with students at the public ground near the Shri Chaitanya Techno School, Sector-44, Chandigarh.
The programme aimed to sensitise the younger generation and the general public to cleanliness and raise awareness of the Government of India's cleanliness-related initiatives. During the programme, students, youth, volunteers, and other stakeholders actively participated, and the message was to make cleanliness a people’s movement through "Jan Bhagidari". Under the Special Campaign Swachhata Hi Seva 6.0, along with promoting cleanliness in government offices and public places, special attention is being given to the disposal of pending matters, disposal of unnecessary records and materials, and making workplaces cleaner, organised and more efficient.
Jasmanpreet Singh, Senior Deputy Mayor, Chandigarh, participated in the programme and administered the Swachhata Pledge to all the participants. He emphasised the role of youth and the importance of community participation in making cleanliness a people’s movement. The contribution of the Vrikshita Youth Club played a role in the successful organisation of this programme, and the volunteers of the club actively participated in cleanliness activities and the awareness rally along with the students. Further strengthening the spirit of Jan Bhagidari, Uttam Sweets and Bakers, Sector-44, Chandigarh, made arrangements for refreshments for the participants and volunteers.
On this occasion, Pritam Singh, Director, PIB Chandigarh, presented a memento to Jasmanpreet Singh, Senior Deputy Mayor. During the same, caps, masks and gloves were also provided to all the participants by CBC. Shri Vinay Kumar, District Youth Officer, MY Bharat, Chandigarh, provided important support in the organisation and coordination of the programme.
Through the programme, the message was given that cleanliness is not limited only to government efforts, but it can be made a sustainable people’s campaign only through the active participation of every citizen. The participation of students and youth played an important role in taking this message to a wider level.
