Women Staff Raise Allegations at Lamrin University: Claims of Pressure to ‘Help’ in Fake Admissions and Degrees; Alleged Obscene Audio Played at Press Club
Two senior women employees allege harassment after questioning procedures; claims of molestation, suspension and salary cut also made

Chandigarh 24 September ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Two senior women staff members of Lamrin Tech Skills University on Wednesday raised allegations of alleged irregularities and harassment at a press conference held at the Chandigarh Press Club. In the presence of a colleague and advocate Sunil Mallan, the complainants levelled serious allegations of sexual harassment and inappropriate conduct against senior university officials. The complainants alleged that they were pressured to ‘help’ in matters relating to alleged fake admissions and purported fraudulent degrees. They claimed that after refusing to act against rules and raising questions regarding the procedures followed in admissions, examinations and PhD programmes, they were allegedly targeted.
During the press conference, the complainants also played an alleged obscene audio recording before the media. They alleged that they had faced inappropriate behaviour and mental harassment. One of the complainants described herself as an alleged victim of molestation and demanded an independent investigation into the matter. ‘Attitude Changed After We Questioned External Role in Admissions and Examinations’According to the complainants, they had raised questions over the alleged involvement of outsiders in the university’s admission and examination processes. They also questioned the regulatory norms and procedures relating to the PhD programme. They alleged that disciplinary action against them began after they raised these concerns. One woman claimed that in December 2025, she was removed from an important position and shifted to a role involving fewer responsibilities. She further alleged that she was suspended on July 15, 2026, her salary was reduced by 50 per cent and she was offered a lower position. The complainant also levelled allegations of intimidation and insulting behaviour against Pro-Vice-Chancellor B.S. Satyal. Advocate Sunil Mallan said the allegations raised by the complainants should be subjected to an impartial inquiry. He called for examination of the alleged audio recording, documents and other evidence to establish the facts.
Complainants Cite Special DGP’s Inquiry Orders, Claim ‘No Action So Far’
The complainants said that following their complaint, Special DGP (Community Affairs and Women Affairs) Gurpreet Deol had ordered an inquiry into the matter. According to them, AIG Vatsala Gupta was assigned to examine allegations relating to alleged workplace harassment, gender discrimination, retaliatory action and employment-related rights. The complainants alleged that despite the inquiry orders, they have not received the relief or justice they expected so far. They demanded an independent and transparent investigation into the allegations and examination of all relevant evidence.
