Chandigarh 20 June ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today said attempts by the ruling Aam Admi Party (AAP) to spread a false narrative regarding Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s deposition at Sri Akal Takht Sahib and its attempt to stage dharnas against the Shiromani Akali Dal had boomeranged. Addressing a press conference here, SAD Chief Spokesman Arshdeep Singh Kler said AAP had attempted to gherao and stage protest at district headquarters of the SAD but its attempts failed miserably as they could not muster support of requisite numbers despite help from the police force. He said the videos emerging from different districts of the state had made it clear that only a meagre number of AAP workers assembled on the call of the party making the entire attempt a flop show. "One tree in the name of mother" tree plantation drive organized in GMHS 42
Chandigarh 31 July ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : With the aim of environmental awareness, increasing green cover and respect for mothers, plantation of trees was done at Government Model High School, Sector 42, under the campaign “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” by the Eco Club of the school. On this occasion, Surinder Kaur, mother of Senior Deputy Mayor of Chandigarh Municipal Corporation and Councillor of Ward 24, Jasbir Singh Bunty, was the chief guest of the function. On this occasion, Senior Deputy Mayor and Councillor of Ward 24 Jasbir Singh Bunty and ASI in-charge Rajesh along with school Principal Navdeep Kaur and teachers were also present.
The distinguished guests and Principal Navdeep Kaur, staff and students of GMHS 42 paid tributes to Shaheed Udham Singh on his Martyrdom Day and inspired the students to promote patriotism and respect our freedom fighters. Which is the urgent need of the society today. Addressing the school children, Senior Deputy Mayor Jasbir Singh Bunty said that the aim of this campaign is to promote environmental sustainability and respect for mother in the near future. The aim of the campaign is to plant 25 new saplings in the school premises. To inculcate a sense of environmental responsibility among students and staff.
