He also demanded Rs 50 crore to Rs 70 crores annual research grant for the Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana to improve the research facilities for better agriculture. The Ludhiana MP made a strong case for providing debt relief to the small and marginal farmers through one time settlement by waiving off their interests. Chandigarh 30 December ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Blanket distribution and langar events are being held across the country to protect the poor and needy from the increasing cold. People are serving humanity by providing warm clothing, food, and shelter to the destitute. Chandigarh Congress leaders, in a positive initiative, distributed jackets to the poor and needy in Sector 37 Market and 38 colonies on Tuesday afternoon to protect them from the increasing cold and the New Year.
Congress leaders Parveen Sharma Titu, BM Khanna, and Victor Sidhu were present. Parveen Sharma Titu explained that amid the increasing severity of the winter, various humanitarian efforts are underway by all sections of society to provide warm clothing, food, and shelter to the needy. Congress leader Parveen Sharma Titu also organizes langar events for the poor at various locations in the city.
