Chandigarh 3 February ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Shishu Niketan Public School, Sector-43A, Chandigarh, is organizing a 7-day NSS (National Service Scheme) camp from February 2nd to February 8th. During this camp, students are actively participating in various social, sanitation, and awareness-raising activities.
On the third day of the camp, February 3rd, NSS volunteers visited Itawa village, which has been adopted by the school. A special awareness campaign was conducted on the theme of "Clean and Healthy Environment." During the campaign, a comprehensive cleanliness drive was organized at the Anganwadi and dispensary premises in Itawa village, with approximately 50 NSS volunteers participating enthusiastically.
On this occasion, local councillor Mr. Jasbir Singh Bunty attended the program at 10:30 AM and appreciated the social work being done by the students. He urged the youth to make cleanliness an integral part of their lives and to bring about positive change in society.
The main objective of this campaign was to raise awareness among villagers about the importance of sanitation, health, and a clean environment. The active participation of the students proved that the younger generation can make a significant contribution to the overall development of society.
At the end of the program, the local villagers and attending representatives praised the initiative and emphasized the need to organize such awareness campaigns regularly in the future.
