As a result of continuous struggle and pressure, the Punjab government has had to change its attitude and now a notification has been issued regarding the implementation of a new recipe for food served in Anganwadi centers. Although the ingredients for making it have not been received yet, the issuance of the notification is a significant victory of the struggle.
The union said that there can be no compromise with the health of children and women coming to Anganwadi centers. Nutritious and fresh food is the right of every beneficiary. The union also demanded that the new recipe be implemented at the ground level as soon as possible and the necessary budget and facilities for this should also be provided immediately. The Anganwadi Workers Union Punjab (CITU) announced that the struggle will continue for the realization of the remaining demands.
