Institute of Chartered Accountants organizes Commerce Educators Conclave-2026, Emphasizes on Empowering Youth through Commerce Education
Chandigarh 20 May ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The Punjab School Education Board and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India jointly organized the "Commerce Educators Conclave-2026 - Career Udaan for Punjab" event at the Punjab School Education Board auditorium on Tuesday. Principals, lecturers, and teachers from across Punjab enthusiastically participated in the event. The conclave was held on December 22, 2025, under the MoU signed between ICAI and PSEB.
Addressing the program, Dr. Amarpal Singh said that strengthening commerce education to align with the needs of modern industries and professional skill development is the need of the hour. He added that values such as discipline, ethical financial behavior, and leadership have been ingrained in Punjab's heritage since the time of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He said, "Commerce is not just a subject, but a way of life that develops discipline, management skills, financial understanding, and decision-making abilities in students."
CA Arpit Kabra expressed his gratitude to the Punjab School Education Board and provided information on key ICAI initiatives such as the ICAI Commerce Olympiad, Project Saptarishi, and Project Management Commerce. He explained that under Project Commerce, emphasis is being placed on introducing commerce education as early as grade 6, so that students can develop a strong foundation from the early stages.
He said that under Project Saptarishi, programs such as Train the Trainer Program, career counseling, reading rooms, and skill-based training will be implemented to prepare teachers and students for the future. He expressed confidence that this collaboration between ICAI and PSEB will provide better career opportunities and proper guidance to the youth of Punjab.
Dinesh Sharma highlighted the importance of the chartered accountancy profession and commerce education. CA Sahil Garg and CA Vikas Goyal stated that such initiatives will play a vital role in strengthening commerce education in Punjab. The event was jointly organized by the Chandigarh and Ludhiana branches of the ICAI under the guidance of its Career Counseling Committee.
