Sri Karthikeya Swamy Temple celebrates 37th Varsika Utsav and 56th Chitrai Thiruvizha celebrations with devotion and cultural fervor
Chandigarh 9 May ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The 37th Varsika Utsav of Sri Karthikeya Swamy Temple, Sector 31, Chandigarh, and the 56th Chitrai Thiruvizha celebrations of Chandigarh Tamil Sangam, Bharati Bhavan, are being celebrated with great devotion and cultural fervor in Chandigarh from May 6 to 10, 2026. The three-day Varsika Utsav at Sri Karthikeya Swamy Temple and the two-day Chitrai Thiruvizha at Bharati Bhavan attracted devotees and members of the Tamil community from across the region, and the celebrations were celebrated with devotion and reverence.
Expert Veda Pandits from Tamil Nadu are performing various traditional pujas, homas, and rituals during this religious event. The festival also features spectacular cultural programs daily, including:- Traditional Tamil folk dance performances
- Light music programs by artists from Madurai
- Bharatanatyam performances
- Devotional and cultural presentations by various artists and teams
Cultural teams from Tamil Nadu, coordinated through the North Zone Cultural Centre, add grandeur and traditional flavor to the celebrations.
